Abstract:
Plasmonic nanoparticles (NPs) find various applications from bio-imaging, bio-medicine to the improvement of solar cell efficiency. Accurate modeling of NPs requires the solution of Maxwell equations. Therefore, reliable electromagnetic solvers are needed for plasmonic NPs.In this talk, a surface integral equation solver will be described to analyze scattering properties of plasmonic NPs. To show the accuracy and versatility of the solver, numerical examples will be given and compared to analytical solutions, other numerical solutions, and experimental results whenever possible.

Short Bio:

İsmail Enes Uysal received BS and MS degrees in Physics from Koç University, in 2009 and 2011, respectively. Then, he got Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in 2016. After a short post-doctoral study at Bilkent with Prof. Oğuz Gülseren, he joined Electrical and Electronics Engineering at İstanbul Gelişim University as an Assistant Professor. His work mainly focuses on electromagnetic solvers and plasmonic nanoparticles.
