Abstract:
We study meandering loop mirrors (MLM) based photonic structures on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) platform in the near-IR telecommunication band. Based on the transmittance properties and the arrangement of the MLMs many different structures can be realized such as meandering distributed feedback (MDFB), symmetric meandering distributed feedback (MDFB) and anti-symmetric meandering distributed feedback (AMDFB). These integrated photonic structures are suitable for applications such as photonic biosensors and optical filters in wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) networks.
